Physical characteristics : The cluster fly resembles the domestic fly. It is larger in size and slower than the domestic. One characteristic that helps in identifying it is when it's resting this fly crosses its wings one on top of the other.
Behaviour : The cluster fly can be seen anywhere outside during the summer months. Once the weather starts to cool in the fall it begins to search for shelter inside buildings to survive winter. During this time it is not uncommon to find a group of these flies perched on a light colouredwall where there is sunlight.
Diet : It feeds on the lombric parasite.
